SEPTEMBER AFTERNOON

We had the most glorious late September in 2018 and I had been painting "en plein air" in a nearby village. On my way home, I saw amazing sunlight and shadow in the Aveyron River valley ... I immediately jumped out of the car to photograph and draw this. To my delight, the weather was the same for the next few days, so I managed to block this in on the canvas, while also sketching and making a watercolour. I finished this in the studio
