IN A FRENCH GARDEN Oil on canvas 100cm x 81cm

I dropped in on nearby friends around about 17.00 in September ... the light on their Zinnias was wonderful at that moment. So, I drove back the next day to paint two smallish canvases over the next few days, to see if it would work on a larger canvas. As I found my way around the view of Zinnias, I was convinced to make the effort to cram my studio easel and larger canvas into my small car; a Citroën Dyane! I was so lucky with the weather, that I managed eight afternoons of painting ... a very nice way to say goodbye to summer with my last of the year "plein air"painting.
