Bente – 01-10-19 Every woman needs a celebration and when one sees a particular beautiful one and the principles of clairobscur love to portray her, then it is time to make a move and render her in my roundism style. The reference picture gave me all I needed but the challenge was to add value by dividing her face into straight planes and curved ones. I was attracted by the round curves in the hair as well as some straight diagonals across the face pointing upwards. I kept the sternum quite abstract and in the end decided not to hatch the lower right side to a total black, counterbalancing the central placed and upper left ligher parts.
