    About me

    About Romana Jelinkova
She grew up in the Czech Republic under the communist regime, her artistic journey intertwined with the political history which people had to cope with. She was unable to study art during the school years, as she wished. The change occurred following the Velvet Revolution (1992) when the situation changed and she founded her own international photo agency. A few years later painting burst into her life becoming an integral part of her life until the present day. Aktion, movement, and the choice of blue as the main color define her own language. All these features tell of a gained artistic universe, strongly desired, which through the use of blue manages to better express her own thoughts. Spontaneity underlies her way of painting and the use of acrylic color allows her to support this aspect. The choice of monochromatic tells of the interest in traditional Eastern painting and calligraphy.

The principles of Eastern painting and calligraphy are still important to me but I am increasingly attracted to multicolored expression.
