About Us
Purple Lamp was founded by industry veterans to pursue their passion in PC and Console gaming.
A love for community driven strategy, management and light RPG games unites a team that has spent many years working together, where everyone knows what they’re doing and loves the games we’re working on.
Our team comes from many different countries: Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Iceland, Spain, Portugal, Great Britain, Sweden, USA, just to name a few.
The studio language is English, and we really enjoy working in a very mature yet passionate environment.
We’re looking for a Game Designer to support our team in our current and upcoming projects.
Your tasks…
- Working hands-on with design implementation
- Researching so your designs are well informed and fit for purpose
- Creating & communicating designs to provide clear goals / specifications
- Prototyping & requesting feedback to validate designs and reduce risks
- Reviewing & iterating tools and features to achieve best results
Your profile…
- Responsible for a game’s mechanics & gameplay
- Evangelist of fun – obtain the best possible experience for the player
- Engineer of fun – decide and design how the game plays & feels
- Mechanic of fun – work hands-on with the game to achieve best results
- Developed at least 1 released game for PC and/or consoles. Good technical and analytical design skills
- Proactive personality and good communication skills
- Good English skills (written and oral)
- European citizen or EU / Austrian work permit
Ideally…
- Experience with Unreal
- Familiar with Scrum framework

Austrian work law binds us to indicate the legal minimum wage for each advertised position.
For the position, it would be gross EUR 2.461 – per month, 14 salaries per year (IT Kollektivvertrag, ST/Einstieg).
The salary can be higher to recognize a candidate’s experience and skill level.
